Nice to meet you!

Picture of Marissa Guimbarda

I'm Marissa, former Clemson softball player, dog owner, coffee enthusiast, and full-time softball coach. I strive to provide a professional-level coaching experience while also having fun with the athletes who come through my doors. That's what it should be all about!

My experience with softball was not always this way. Growing up, I was taught from tough coaches with even tougher standards. Many of my lessons ended in tears, feeling like I didn't do anything right.

So, my coaching philosophy is to provide an environment where my athletes can learn and grow, while also honing their skills as players. With my background as a youth mentor, I am passionate about helping athletes build their skills along with building their character.

Don't get me wrong, I have some killer drills planned. But I believe we can be challenged and work on weaknesses- without crying in the car on the way home.

That's why I'm here: because I want to empower young athletes to realize their full potential, on and off the field.

19

Outside of softball

I graduated with a Bachelors in Health Science and my masters in Athletic Leadership from Clemson.

I volunteer at Fuse Student Ministry, where I get to walk with high-schoolers through life. The best job ever is getting to listen, encourage, and pray alongside students. For the past three years, I've mentored a group of highschool girls—and now they're graduating!

I have the most adorable, cuddly golden doodle named Cooper. You can see all his cuteness on his Instagram at Coop's Instagram @thedoodcoop_

I have a special bond with my dad. As a kid, he drilled me on fundamentals in the backyard, and always encouraged

me to play hard and do my best.

Even in college, he would travel with my mom to come see my games. My dad instilled in me a love of the game, and I want to help aspiring young athletes discover that same joy.

So that's me! I love long talks, morning coffee, my friends and family, and last-minute adventures- and I want to help you succeed. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better and walking alongside you in this season of life!
